Witch Apple Gourd Doll

I always wanted to make an apple head witch and I'm finally doing it. The body is a cute little waisted gourd I got. I have all the parts now. I just have to figure out how to assemble everything so it stays together.

I made this head quite a while ago so I'm glad to finally be using it. The teeth are rocaille beads that I glued in. The hair is green 'Fun Fur' eyelash yarn. The red on the cheeks was done w/ a felt marker. The hat is the top of a small gourd.

I'm not sure what 'ping my default' means but I guess I'll find out when I hit send.

The week sure went by quick. I had a lot more planned but didn't have the energy to do it. My hands are still sore from woodcarving, and so I've had to lay off the knitting and crocheting. I'm looking forward to the weekend. My daughter may visit. We'll see.

Yay I finally finished my first apple head doll

I learned so much that I'll make the next one in a much more efficient manner. For one, put the head on last after the body is stuffed and the clothes are on it! Glue hair on last!

I named her Maddy. I'm so happy I finally finished one. It was intimidating. I had to keep reminding myself that if I could sew people clothes I could figure out how to make doll clothes. And it helps to remember the skirt is a circle and the scarf and shawl are both triangles. The shirt is a t-tunic. The hands and legs are made from a tan sock. Now I have more confidence in the whole process.

Working on a new batch of apple head dolls.

I just added the wire bodies and eyes to some of the heads. I bought the batting to make the bodies with so that's the next step. For an article on it look here: http://hubpages.com/_l6f64eotqm13/hub/Make_An_Apple_Head_Doll_Part_1
